Stones Plotting Farewell?

The Rolling Stones are reportedly planning to launch a final tour next year, before calling it quits. U.K. newspaper The Sun says that the band is in talks with tour promoter Live Nation for a series of farewell dates. The trek would begin next year and last into 2012. This would mark the 50th anniversary for the Stones, who formed in 1962. An unnamed source told the newspaper, "They're likely to perform in stadiums. It's almost certainly the last full-scale world tour. The band realise that age is creeping up on them. They want to bow out on top of their game, and not short-change fans." Leppard Changes Spots

Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott has always gushed about his unabashed love for the music of 70s British glam band Mott the Hoople (“All the Young Dudes,” “All the Way From Memphis”), its main songwriter and frontman Ian Hunter (“Cleveland Rocks,” “Once Bitten Twice Shy”), and the not-quite-Mott spinoff band British Lions (“One More Chance to Run”). Why Led Zeppelin Reunion Didn’t Happen  

The rumors and speculation were flying around about a Led Zeppelin reunion following the performance at London’s O2 arena towards the end of 2007. The show that featured the surviving members of the group who were joined by Jason Bonham, son of the late Led Zeppelin drummer John “Bonzo” Bonham. Report after report all but promised a Led Zeppelin reunion tour following the success of the O2 show.
